Welcome to Faithfully
Welcome to Faithfully, a faith-based blog written by a 21-year-old woman.
My goal with these articles is simple: I want to make us girls feel alive again.
Lately, I've felt like it's become so easy to feel disconnected from the world around us. We use social media every day, and before we know it, we're addicted.
I struggle a lot with my own use of Instagram. I used to tell myself that I only used it to stay in contact with friends and keep up with their stories. But the truth is, that's almost impossible.
There are the reels, the comment sections, checking to see who liked your most recent post and who didn't. Wondering why certain people commented while others didn't. Feeling hurt because you left a thoughtful comment on someone's post, only for them to scroll past it while giving someone else a response.
At some point, it all started to feel ridiculous. I felt pathetic for caring so much. I don't want to define my friendships based on an app that was designed to keep me scrolling and craving validation.
Life has so much more to offer, and I think we've been missing it for a while now.
Maybe it's because we're constantly connected. Maybe it's because we're always comparing ourselves to people online. Whatever the reason, I'm tired of it.
Lately, I've found myself longing for the early 2000s. Not because everything was perfect, but because life seemed slower. People were more present. Memories weren't created for content. They were just memories.
I want to enjoy those moments again.
I don't want to live my life trying to be aesthetic. The more I tried to romanticize every moment, the more I felt myself getting lost in the illusion of it all. I don't want to create a life that looks beautiful online—I want to create a life that actually feels beautiful to live.
I've been on a social media detox for a little while now, and honestly, it can feel isolating at times. That's one of the reasons I wanted to create this space.
Faithfully is for anyone who's tired of comparing themselves to strangers online. For anyone who's tired of being told exactly how they're supposed to live. For anyone who's exhausted from trying to make every moment look perfect instead of simply living it.
Let's focus on what God has given us and learn how to appreciate the small moments again.
One of the first things I did during my Instagram detox was buy a few magazines. It brought me so much joy. I had forgotten the feeling of flipping through pages, reading articles, and taking my time with something that wasn't demanding my attention every five seconds.
Here, I want to focus on good news, meaningful conversations, and content that feels uplifting.
My prayer for this project is simple: that God would use it to reach people and create a safe place for anyone who needs it.
Not every article will be deep. Some weeks we'll talk about faith. Other weeks we might talk about horses, hockey, rodeo, country living, college life, or even the weather. I might share lessons God has been teaching me, stories from everyday life, or simply something that has been on my heart that week.
This space is meant to feel like sitting on a porch with a cup of coffee, talking about life with a friend.
So welcome to Faithfully.
I'm glad you're here.
